For this set of images I want to show people's 'weird' hobbies. To do this I first took a set of images of my subject in their 'normal' everyday clothes. Then I took another set of images of my subject in the form of what their hobby is.
Grace and her hobby
For these images I was based in the studio. I used a black backdrop as I thought it showed more of a contrast. I started out by taking pictures of Grace in her everyday clothes and in a basic pose without much expression on her face. I then took pictures of Grace in the form of her hobby which is dressing up in her mother's clothes. I wanted to capture Grace looking more like a young child, as it is usually young children that dress in their parents clothes. I like these images because I think they really capture an element of 'weirdness' in Grace.
Joanna and her hobby
For these images I was based in the studio again. I used a black backdrop and I went through the same process as I did with the set of images of Grace. Joanna's hobby is to dress up in clothes from the tudor period and other old clothes.
I used a black backdrop for the basic set of images and the white backdrop for the tudor period images to show the contrast between the two personas that Joanna has taken on. I wanted Joanna to be very prim and proper for her tudor pictures as when you think of the tudor period I think of the women being very serious and never showing much expression.
Abby and her hobby
For these images I am showcasing Abby's hobby of dressing up in disney princess clothes. I used a white backdrop as it represents innocence and purity (the qualities of a typical disney princess) more than a black backdrop would.
For the first image I asked Abby to be in a very basic pose without any expression on her face. This is to represent the 'normality' in Abby. The next image when she is dressed in the costume of her hobby, I asked Abby to be in a very elegant pose that represents the mannerisms of a princess.
